Generation Food Uganda

SHONA, in collaboration with Rikolto, a Belgian NGO active in the agricultural value chain, implemented the Generation Food Program, which aimed to address the major challenges faced by young people in agricultural entrepreneurship in the Ugandan secondary cities of Mbale and Gulu, building businesses that positively impact the food system. This is a worldwide Rikolto program that skills and enables youth entrepreneurs in the agricultural value chain, aiming to grow the agriculture economy and create decent work opportunities for young people.

It focuses on general business skills while also aiming to inspire and promote the co-creation of innovations within the agricultural value chain, with the primary goal of positively impacting the city’s food systems and working towards safe and affordable food for all city dwellers.
